Darren Stuart Stone

Darren Stuart Stone, an all-around outstanding man, passed away on October 2, 2021 at a hospital in Boca Raton, Florida, where he was surrounded by his beautiful wife and four loving children.

Born February 26, 1970 to the parents of Steve and Norma Stone, Darren grew up with his two brothers – Scott and Greg – in Miami, Florida. From a young age, Darren’s competitive spirit led him into sport. He was particularly happiest on the soccer field, winning a State Championship with Miami Killian High School and earning himself a Division I soccer scholarship at the University of Massachusetts. After college, his deep passion for soccer led him to coach both club and recreational soccer teams where he taught others about a game he loved so much.

When he was a freshman in college, Darren met the love of his life and the woman he would eventually marry, Susan Elizabeth Stone. The pair produced four beautiful children – Michael, Matthew, Alexander, and Nicole. Darren held family very close to his heart and would tell you that his wife and children were among the things that made him happiest in the world.

In his professional career, Darren was a very loyal man – serving as a Territory Manager at Mohawk Industries for over 30 years. A man beloved by everyone in the industry, Darren loved serving his flooring accounts throughout South Florida.

Over the last decade, Darren rediscovered his childhood passion of collecting sports cards. This hobby allowed Darren to form many close friends and memories. He was a staple at the local card shows, and was even nationally recognized as a reputable card collector and dealer.

Darren is survived by his wife, Susan and four children, Michael, Matthew, Alexander, and Nicole Stone of Boca Raton, Parents, Steven and Norma Stone of Delray Beach, FL, Brother Scott Stone and his wife Michele of Orlando, Brother Greg Stone and his wife Amber of Orlando, Grandmother, Trixxy Stone of Sunrise, 7 nieces and nephews, and numerous other loving family members.

 Although we are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of a great father, coach, friend, and mentor, we are thankful Darren was able to have such an important impact in our lives. He will be dearly missed.
