Constance “Connie” Maria Singer
Our beloved Connie was called home to our Lord on December 23, 2020, four weeks prior to her 100th birthday. Her four children were able to visit her at Boca Raton Regional Hospital prior to her peaceful passing. Connie was born in Minnesota and has lived in several states from the Midwest to the Northeast coast before settling in West Palm Beach, then Boca Raton – spending the last eighteen years living independently at St. Andrews Estates.
Living for an entire century, Connie witnessed a great amount of American history including: eighteen presidents, eight Constitutional amendments, several wars and economic swings, life-changing inventions and developments; and most important to her – the growth and happiness of her four children.
Connie was a longtime active member of the Boca Raton Garden Club and loved gardening, plants, flowers and wildlife. Connie also loved to travel and did so extensively with members of her family – her most recent trip was a Snake River cruise in the Pacific Northwest with her daughters. Connie was very involved with the activities at St. Andrews - a consistent winner at Bingo, completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards with her group. And she always enjoyed dancing – having been on a chorus line in St. Louis as a young lady, she never lost her knack! Her smile and gracious wit were loved by her many friends and neighbors. Connie’s unwavering faith was a blessing for us all. She was a caring, generous devout soul who will be missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Connie was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene Haggerty, William Haffner, and Samuel Singer; siblings Ruth and Joseph Jerome Staples; nephew Joel Staples; son-in-law William Coakley and grandson Kirk Coakley. She is survived by her children, Eugene (Eileen) Haggerty of Stuart, Ruth Coakley of Boca Raton, Michael (Denice) Haggerty of Wellington, and Emilie (Chris) Palmieri of Pompano Beach; and six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be announced at a future date due to the Covid Pandemic.
