Christopher Dana Klein, Sr., 75, passed away on January 24, 2026, in Boca Raton, Florida. Born on April 26, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Chris lived a full life defined by family, friendship, and a genuine interest in the people around him.
After graduating from Georgetown University in 1972, Chris began his career working with the Executive Office of the President’s Price Commission. He later moved to South Florida after accepting a position with NCR, where he would build a long and successful career. During his time with NCR, eventually serving as Southeast Regional Manager, Chris played a role in installing the first ATMs in Publix Supermarkets and aboard cruise ships. He later served as Executive Vice President of Marketing for Mosaic Software. It was in South Florida that he also met the love of his life, Deborah “Debbie” Lairson Klein, whom he was married to for 41 years.
Chris is survived by his wife, Deborah Klein; his daughter Katie Aufenanger and her husband Todd; his son Christopher Klein and his wife Baily; his daughter Kelly Klein; his sister Kimberley Power; and his beloved grandsons, Miller Klein, TJ Aufenanger, Henry Klein, and Watson Klein. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Charlotte Klein, and his sister, Sheridan Cline.
Above all else, Chris loved his family — especially his grandchildren — and took joy in the simple routines of daily life. He adored his dogs, faithfully fed the birds each morning, and had a lifelong appreciation for classic cars. He was a good friend to many, known for remembering people, sharing goofy jokes, and making others feel seen and welcome.
A celebration of Chris’s life will be held on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431. The visitation will be from 12pm-1pm and the service will be from 1pm-2pm. Watch the service here Christopher Klein Service.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of his love for animals, donations may be made in Chris’s name to Tri-County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton, Florida.
