Charles "Charlie" John Dlugos, born in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Patrick and Lottie Dlugos, and his sister, Ginger.
A proud veteran, Charlie joined the United States Marine Corps in 1956 and served with honor until 1960. Following his service, he began a long and dedicated career in the airline industry, working for Pan American World Airways and later Delta Airlines.
Upon retiring to South Florida, Charlie and his wife, Marie, enjoyed many happy years at the Le Baron Condo in Hillsboro Beach. Charlie enjoyed golfing with his friends, though it was the camaraderie and the long-lasting friendships he built there that he cherished most. Those who knew Charlie knew he always had a joke to tell; he had a gift for storytelling and a genuine desire to make everyone around him laugh.
Above all else, Charlie was a family man. He and Marie shared 62 beautiful years of marriage. He is survived by his loving wife and their two sons, Donald (Jodi) and John (Shantel). His pride and joy were his six grandchildren: Anthony (Kristen), Kelsey (Jack), Alexis, Annabella, Jack, and Abigail. He was also blessed with the legacy of his great-grandchildren, Declan and Riley, with another expected in June.
A visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, January 11 (Wake Service at 4:00 PM) at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33431. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 12 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 370 SW 3rd St, Boca Raton, FL 33432. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 12:30 PM Tuesday, January 27 at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlie’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at http://dav.org
