Obituary for Carole May Sferlazzi DeLuca/Howerton
Carole May Howerton, aka Carole May DeLuca (nee Sferlazzi), 91, of Boca Raton, Florida went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2026.
Carole was born in Clifton, New Jersey, to Anthony and Phyllis Sferlazzi. She graduated from Clifton High School and The Latin American Institute in New York. She married, then in 1965, moved to Florida with her family.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Trumbower, Guy DeLuca (Lynne), Marilee Mauser, Glenn DeLuca and Karyn DeLuca (Melissa), thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and her sister Eileen Maloney. She was preceded in death by her spouses Victor Joseph DeLuca and John Howerton, her sons-in-law, Jerry Trumbower and Joel Mauser, and her great grandson Barrett Tarter.
Carole had a very deep and devout faith, and a great love for her children and extended family. She spoke three languages, loved to travel and loved her life in South Florida. She was a lifelong Miami Dolphin fan. During her life, she volunteered at her church, sponsored international students, held bible studies, tutored in an adult literacy program and worked with a prison outreach program. She owned and operated an independent insurance agency. Carole will be remembered for her kindness and her willingness to help others.
A service will be held on May 29, 11:00 am at The Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton.
