Carmen Carolina Bellarosa

Carmen Carolina Bellarosa was born in Modena, Italy on September 28, 1941 and passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021 in her home in Florida, USA surrounded by loved ones.

She will live in our memories forever, joining her husband Franco.

She is survived by her three daughters Cinzia, Eliana and Cristina, her seven grandchildren, her siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid pandemic, private family services will be held.

Dear, Carmen, I have so many things to thank you for that I don't know where to start.  So many shared trips and experiences; so many anecdotes that still make me laugh a lot and remember that, in spite of all, there are so many good and beautiful things in life.

A single story among hundreds defines you better than nothing.  in 1975 Ermanno and I invited you to make a trip that crossed part of the desert of Nevada.  You accepted as if nothing.  We were traveling in an old Volkswagen van adapted for sleeping, which you good-heartedly accepted.  The day we crossed that desert, where the tree of us were the only crazy people in sight, the temperature was more than 40 degrees in a vehicle without air conditioning.  You improvised a drink that was iced-cold water with a few drops of red wine to make it more pleasant.  And to make things better you put bandanas soaked in cold water on our heads to help dissipate the oppressive heat.  The desert changed into a better place instantly.

I want to remember in this special day that wherever you were, everything around you was transformed into something more bearable, more orderly and why not, more elegant.  Your almost Zen acceptance of everything that happened, without bombast, without fuss, taught many of us a lot.

From the first moment we met, you accepted me into your wonderful family and more importantly, into your heart, despite our great differences.  Like it was nothing.

Thanks for everything, "sorellina".  Keep helping us all, I beg you.
