In Loving Memory: Joseph "Brett" Crawford

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Brett Crawford, 58, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2025.

Born July 26, 1967, in Rhode Island, Brett moved to Cape Cod as a young man. There, he spent countless days sailing and boating on Nantucket Sound with his cousins and friends leading him to a career in the yachting industry. A highlight of which was working in San Diego, CA for the 1995 Americas Cup team America3 and the U.S. Olympic team in Savannah, GA. That love of the ocean carried him to Florida and, in time, to Jodi Travo, the love of his life.

Married in 2004, they made a home in Boca Raton and raised their two sons, Brady (19) and Chase (17). Brett was a devoted husband and father who spent countless hours on ball fields mentoring, coaching, and traveling with his sons; their shared love of baseball became one of the great joys and guiding passions of his life. ‘Brettie’ wasn’t just loved; he was cherished by everyone who was blessed enough to be in his life.

Surviving Brett are his wife, Jodi; his sons, Brady and Chase; his parents, Barry and Carolyn Crawford; and his sisters: Kelly McDonald, Shannon Coe (Doug), and Courtney Germani; in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The world has lost a true treasure. Brett’s slapstick sense of humor, infectious laugh, unflappable character and gentle demeanor will be greatly missed.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25th, at 10am at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton, FL. Brett will be laid to rest immediately following at the Boca Raton City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be mad in Brett's memory to American Heart Association or The Miracle League Of Palm Beach County .
