Blyth Gilmour Patel died peacefully on January 22, 2021 in her home in Highland Beach, Florida after a long illness.
Blyth Gilmour Patel was born June 11, 1932 and grew up in Long Island, New York. Her father was Lloyd S. Gilmour Sr., a prominent investment banker, and her mother was Margery B. Gilmour. Her only sibling, Lloyd S. Gilmour Jr., with whom she remained close throughout her life, predeceased her.
Blyth Gilmour Patel was spiritually inclined and, in her twenties, she entered a convent of the Episcopal Church as a nun. However, in time she realized this wasn’t the right path for her and so she left the convent to seek her destiny. Ultimately, she came into the world of yoga and opened her own yoga center which drew many spiritual seekers who became her students. Her loving and spiritually magnetic nature did much to help others who were trying to find themselves, and her yoga center was a wonderful ray of light in a world that has always been greatly in need of this quality.
Visiting hours will be from 10am-2pm on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, January 23, 24, and 25th, at the Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, FL.
A virtual zoom memorial service will be held at 2:30pm, Sunday, January 24th.
