Barbara Ann Becker

BECKER, Barbara Ann (Rahr) Becker, 92, of Wheeling, WV, died Tuesday, December 10, 2024.  She died peacefully surrounded by family.  She was a resident of Wellington, Florida since 2001.

Barbara was born in Wheeling, WV on August 25, 1932, the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Rahr and Kathryn Louise (Nikolaus) Rahr.  She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Marna (Habig) Rahr, and two nephews, Bradley and Brian Rahr. 

Barbara lived the majority of her life in Wheeling.  She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mozart, graduated from Wheeling High School in 1950, and worked for H. E. Neumann Company in Wheeling.

She and her husband, Eddie, moved to Florida in 2001 to be near their growing family and Barbara’s  life and love was centered around them.  She was all about her family.  She will forever be in our hearts and is our guiding light for unconditional love.  

Surviving are her high school sweetheart and husband of 70 years Elwood (Eddie) Becker of Wellington, Florida; two children, Rick Becker and his wife, Susan; Pam (Becker) Browning and her husband, Jeff; four grandchildren, Taylor (Browning) Tramonte and her husband, Mike; Jairus Browning and his wife, Caitlin; Nicklaus and Luke Becker; and four great grandchildren, Anthony, Gemma, Elam and Bennett; and her brother Thomas Rahr, Jr.; and niece Marna Susan (Rahr) Tabbert and her husband William; two nephews, Ronald Becker and his wife Patsy, and Gary Becker and his wife Pam; and a cousin, Robert Nikolaus and his wife Geraldine.

Barbara will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, at a private ceremony.
