Arvin Grabill, age 92, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on August 5, 2024 in Boca Raton, Florida. Born on December 13, 1931, in Virginia, Arvin came to South Florida at the age of 13. He worked various jobs around West Palm Beach and Palm Beach and then built his first roller rink in West Palm Beach. From there he expanded with the opening of the Gold Coast Roller Rink in Ft. Lauderdale, Coral Springs Roller Rink, Hollywood Roller Rink and Sunrise Ice Skating Center.
Arvin was a philanthropist at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital and an active member of the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club. He was an avid golfer and loyal Miami Dolphins fan from the team's beginning. He loved to travel and went on several trips with Don Shula and the Miami Dolphins.
Arvin is survived by his wife Georgianna "Jean," four children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A viewing will be held at the Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11 am followed by a burial service at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
