Rousseau, Armenia Josephine (Jo) passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18th in Boca Raton, Florida.
Jo was born March 19th, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents James Grandy and Eva Grandy Barrieault, as well as her sisters Linda Di Marco, Londa Englund, Connie Bay, and Tina Miller.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Gerald Rousseau. She is also survived by two sisters Shirley Christianson and Cathy White and her five children Tamera Menaker, Gina Overton (David), James Rousseau (Pam), Charles Rousseau (Christy) and Linette Cadiena (Jundie), eleven Grandchildren, and five Great Grandchildren.
Jo loved the Lord and her family more than anything. You would always find her attending her children’s and grandchildren’s various activities and celebrations. If you were lucky enough to be in her presence, she would make you feel comfortable and welcome. Jo was a disabled army veteran serving in Texas and Missouri. She loved being a part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) beginning at the local level in Ahoskie, North Carolina and Salisbury, Maryland. Jo eventually became the President of the State of Maryland and was later given the honorary designation. Jo was very active with the Junior Board at Peninsula Regional Medical Center and worked many years in the box office at the Wicomico Youth Civic Center.
A Mass Celebrating Jo’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 18 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Interment to follow at 12:30 PM at the South Florida National Cemetery 6501 FL-7 Wellington Florida.
