Antonina Anna Frankel
Anna Frankel, beloved wife of Ed, died unexpectedly on September 15, 2022. She was 75.
Born in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily in 1947, Anna came to the United States through Ellis Island in 1953. She thoroughly enjoyed learning and was fiercely independent, paying her own tuition at The Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in Brooklyn, NY, where she received a special endorsement in Business Subjects.
Anna worked as a secretary on Wall Street in New York City, and met the love of her life, Ed, in 1966. They were married in 1968 and recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. A year after their nuptials, she took time off to raise daughters Laurie and Nina before returning to work at Sears in Staten Island, where she managed the appliance installation department. She retired in 2000 to provide childcare for her grandson Louis, and three years later, Andy, up to the time they became school aged.
Anna and Ed were snowbirds until 2017, when they made Delray Beach their permanent home. In retirement, Anna enjoyed traveling, golf, meals out with friends, and her weekly mahjongg game, but her family, both near and far, was what she most cherished.
In addition to her husband, daughters, and grandsons, Anna is survived by three sisters, Angie, Josie, Lucy, one brother, Mario, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, September 20th at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida. To watch the live-stream of the service please click the following link http://meet.google.com/kuj-taaq-xbv
