Amy Gioeni Obituary

Amy Hirsch Gioeni

August 26, 1969 – September 21, 2019

Amy Hirsch Gioeni passed away on September 21, 2019 with her family and loved ones close at hand. She conquered breast cancer but could not overcome pancreatic cancer. She was in exceptional spirits last month at the surprise celebration of her 50th birthday.

She is survived by her two daughters Rachel and Adriana, mother and father, Shirley and Ken, brother Matt and soulmate Tom.

Amy was born in Inglewood, California and grew up in Boca Raton, Florida from the age of 4. She attended Zion Lutheran, St Paul Lutheran, Advent Lutheran and St Andrews schools. Her first year of college was at Boston University and she returned home to receive her degree in small business administration from Florida Atlantic University. Amy loved people and event planning. She successfully consulted on many special occasions in South Florida. She said her best job was working in her father’s architectural firm as an administrator. Most recently she was an office manager at the Delray Beach physical therapy office of MDR. Amy loved the Junior League of Boca Raton and contributed many volunteer hours to community projects. Amy was an extraordinary single mom and raised two beautiful, bright, caring daughters. In 2008, Amy discovered Nashville TN and country music. She fell in love with the culture, fun and good times. The highlight of each year was the trek to Nashville with her girlfriends. Amy had a captivating personality which helped make being with her a special occasion. She had her own way of making things happen with flair. Everyone that knew her will miss her sparkling spirit.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019, 4pm at St Paul Lutheran Church, Boca Raton, FL. A reception following the service will be held in the Family Life Center. Amy’s remains will be cherished by her daughters and also placed in the St Paul Memorial Garden.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St Paul Lutheran Church.
