Our beloved mother and grandmother, Amelia Stevens, passed away on October 10, 2020 at 89 years old.
Amelia was originally from Great Falls Montana, born to immigrant parents from Greece. She attended Great Falls High School, and the College of Great Falls. Growing up Amelia was an active member of the Greek Orthodox community in Great Falls Montana. She worked in retail and eventually met and then married Dr. Theodore (Ted) Stevens in 1956. Together they shared 45 loving years.
Amelia led an active life, and helped Ted with the accounting and management of his second passion of Real Estate apartment buildings. Following the loss of Ted in 2001, Amelia found joy as Yia Yia, baby sitter, teacher, playmate, and experienced memorable travel with her grandchildren each summer, and visiting her son Teddy in Montana.
She also enjoyed spending time with her sister and brother and their families. Her travel culminated in a large family outing to Greece in 2014, which was her last major trip.
In her final years, she had been battling a series of health challenges. For Amelia, life was all about family. She will most be remembered as a spectacular wife, mother and grandmother, who was very strong in mind body and spirit.
Amelia is pre-deceased by her husband Dr. Theodore Stevens; survived by her Son James Stevens (granddaughter Victoria); Daughter Diane Stevens and her husband Bill Cocose (grandchildren Cameron and Christopher Cocose;) Brother Dr. Nicholas Kordos and his wife Dr. Margot Touris; niece Nicole Kordos Lane (husband Justin), daughter Avlyn; Christina Wallace (deceased), son John Karson, wife Allie Karson (children Lucas and Landon); son Jason Karson, wife Marissa (daughter Megan).
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Mark Church at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, with the interment taking place in Montana. We offer our deepest condolences to the family and pray that our Lord grants her eternal rest.
