Adriano Vala Obituary

Adriano Luis de Oliveira Vala, age 60, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at his home in Boca Raton, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 1, 1964, in Porto de Mós, Portugal, Adriano was the cherished son of Maria Conceição de Oliveira Luís and Joaquim Luís. He was a devoted husband to Teresa Rodrigues de Abreu Vala for 34 years, a proud father to Adriano Luis Vala Jr. and Fatima Abreu Vala, and a loving father-in-law to Tanya and Brandon. He was also the adored grandfather of Ava. Adriano is survived by his father-in-law, Adriano Abreu, as well as his three brothers and three sisters.

Adriano’s life was defined by his deep Catholic faith, his boundless love for his family, and his unshakable joy for life. A man of great resilience, he always found reasons to smile, and his infectious laughter filled every room he entered. He was the first to offer support, the first to lend a hand, and always believed it was never too late to have fun. Whether with family, friends, or even strangers, Adriano believed in making every moment count and ensuring everyone around him was enjoying life to the fullest.

Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Adriano was a respected self-employed contractor who earned the nickname “Eagle Eyes” for his precision and expertise. His work was his pride, and he applied the same care to every project as he did to his relationships, always going the extra mile to make sure everything—and everyone—was taken care of.

Adriano had a fierce love for family and community. He was especially passionate about his Portuguese heritage, which he shared with pride. His home was always filled with delicious meals from his firewood brick oven, and family gatherings around the dinner table were something he cherished deeply. His love for, Sueca, the Portuguese card game, was legendary. He was unbeatable at it, often outsmarting everyone at the table, and could never tolerate a player who wasn’t fully focused. He turned every card game into an event filled with laughter, fun, and friendly competition.

In addition to his family and work, Adriano’s enthusiasm for life extended to travel. He was a cruise enthusiast, always ready for the next adventure with Teresa and his family. His love for travel and exploration knew no bounds, and his excitement was contagious. Whether on a trip or at home, it was never too late to have fun with him.

Adriano’s strength in the face of adversity was nothing short of inspiring. This past year, he battled pancreatic cancer with incredible courage and resilience. Despite the pain he endured, he never once complained or focused on himself. Instead, he showed those around him what real strength and determination looked like, teaching us all that life, even in its hardest moments, should be lived fully and with joy.

A visitation will be held from 5-9 PM on Thursday, January 2 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (370 SW 3rd St, Boca Raton, FL 33432 ) on January 3rd at 11am.

Adriano’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his love for life continue to inspire us all.
