Vincenzo Selvatico Obituary

Vincenzo Selvatico, formerly of West Springfield, Massachusetts, died April 22, 2018, at the age of 100.  Vincenzo better known as Jimmy and then later as Grandpa.

Jimmy had a wonderful life.  During WW II, he was in the Coast Guard, and helped to capture spies trying to sneak onto American soil.  He later owned "Linda Garment Dress Factory" in Staten Island, New York.  He also was a Shriner in the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

He will best be remembered as a man who everyone loved.  He would do anything for you.  The minute you met him, he always had a smile.  If you told him you wanted nothing for your birthday, that is what you got, a check for zero dollars.

Jimmy is survived by his cherished daughters, Linda Trossello and Donna Reale, his son-in-laws Eugene Trossello and Steve Reale, his beloved grandchildren, September Millar and her husband Simon Millar, Lindsey Ryiz, Krystee Knapic and her husband Philippe Knapic, Paul Ryiz, Michael Reale, Christine Ciullo and her husband Joseph Ciullo, and his great grandchildren, James Kildea, Sky Rodriguez, Owen Millar, Everest Millar, Savanah Knapic, Liliana Ciullo, Aubrey Reale and Michael Reale. He also leaves behind his caring sister Deasanta Winston.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers Daniel and Joseph Selvatico and his sister Cecelia Paton.

Grandpa's secret to a long life was olive oil, red wine, and garlic.

A Military Funeral Honors Service will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida on May 7, 2018 at 10:45am.
