Dr. Samuel S. Stephenson, III

Samuel S. Stephenson passed away peacefully in Boca Raton on June 21, 2017 at the age of 93.  Born  April 18, 1924 in Manhattan, Samuel earned engineering degrees from Manhattan College, Stevens Institute of Technology, and a Doctorate of Engineering from New York University.  He taught for over 55 years, starting at C.W. Post in Long Island.   He moved to Boca Raton in 1969 to teach at FAU, retiring as a Professor Emeritus after 35 years.  He was a consultant to over 30 major corporations including Pepsi.  For 20 years, he actively served with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Boca Raton Flotilla, and for more than a decade was on the Board of Directors of the Habilitation Center for the Handicapped in Boca Raton.

Dr. Stephenson is preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Godfrey Stephenson.  He is survived by his son Sam and daughter-in-law Kirsten, and their children Christine, Stephen, Andrew, and Katie; and by his daughter Karlen and her children Ocean and Nikki Jefferson.

Mass is to be held Saturday, July 1st  at 11am at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton with burial in the adjacent Boca Raton cemetery.  Viewing will be Friday, June 30th from 5:30pm until 7pm at Glick’s Funeral Home in Boca Raton.
