Pinghui Victor Liu , M.D, PhD., 93, of Boca Raton, passed away on June 6, 2017 at his daughter's home after a brief illness. He was born February 9, 1924 in Taiwan and attended Tokyo Jikei Kai Medical School. For over forty years he worked at University of Louisville Medical school as a tenured professor and researching physician. His contributions to the field of microbiology with the discovery and characterization of the exotoxins of pseudomonas led to over 40 publications. He enjoyed travel and lectured all over the world. He had a special fondness for gardening, fishing, and tennis.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Chiameng Judy Liu, daughter, Nancy Liu, her husband James Houle, son, Albert Liu as well as granddaughters Camille Houle and Lauren Houle. He was loved and respected by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton at 2601 St. Andrews Blvd., Boca Raton, FL 33434 on June 17, 2017 at 2PM,.
