Norma R. Thomas

Norma R. Thomas passed from this life peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017, in Boca Raton, FL at the age of 91.  Born on April 7, 1926 in Eden, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Lloyd D. and Leila Lamb (nee Richmond).  She was a graduate of Eden Central School, Class of 1943, and always enjoyed attending the Alumni Weekend in Eden every year.  She was a resident of Eden for 47 years prior to moving to Boca Raton where she resided for the rest of her years.

Norma will be most remembered as a devoted wife and a loving mother.  Her home was continuously filled with family, while always cooking around the clock.  She was proud of her decorated home during the fall season and at Christmas time.  She loved going back home to Eden in the summers, appreciating her geraniums and living a wonderfully simple life.  Even though she had been in South Florida for many years, she always considered Eden her home.
Norma is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, John Thomas, her 7 children, John Thomas, Jr. (Candace), Norman Thomas (Adria), Jane Thomas, Kathleen LaSalle (Tom), Cynthia Thomas (Manuel), Jeffrey Thomas (Sally) and Stephen Thomas (Suzanne), 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by her brother, Lloyd L. Lamb (Geraldine), sister, Dorothy Dudley, and by many loving nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Jay Lamb, and her sisters Jean Graf and Shirley Miller.

A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Tuesday, July 25, at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton.  A 2nd visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, July 28, at Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main St., North Collins, NY.  A funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Spirit Church in North Collins, NY on Saturday, July 29, at 10 am, immediately followed by a brunch in the Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions in Norma's memory be made to Holy Spirit Church, 2017 Halley Road, North Collins, NY 14111.
