Mike Cartier

Mike “Anarkyman” Cartier, 53, passed on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

Mike had a passion for history and martial arts, and an unwavering love for his family.  Mike’s first great discovery was history, and he had the good fortune to see it first hand through his many travels as a child.  Those things he could not witness in the world, he explored through books.  One book that touched him most deeply was “The Sword and the Centuries;” and it was this book that fed his second appetite, martial arts.  In fact, it drove him to study with ARMA, and use these skills to create his own guild, Meyer Freifechter Guild. He held the vision of the club as a fellowship of scholars in brotherhood and fighters earnestly seeking to understand the teachings of Meyer and rebuild the tradition that he represented.

Mike met his wife, Helen Zachariades, in 1994. They instantly fell in love and were married on September 4, 1999. They had two beautiful boys Odysseus Cartier (19) and Ares Cartier (15).  Despite all of his accomplishments, it was his family that truly completed him. 

Mike is survived by his wife, Helen, and three children: Odysseus, Ares and Alexandra Cartier.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held this Saturday at Saint Mark Greek Orthodox Church located at 2100 Yamato Road, Boca Raton.  Viewing will begin at 12:30 with the funeral service starting at 1:00.
