Michael W. Zappia, 54, of Boca Raton passed away on Sunday, September 4th, 2011.
Born Michael William Zappia to Dominic and Anita Zappia on October 3, 1956, In Massena, NY. He attended high school in Peabody, MA, and Morristown, NJ. While studying at FAU, he was accepted into the Police Academy. He was an officer for the City of Boca Raton from April 1979 to November 1999. He retired in the rank of sargent. He is survived by his mother, brother Roy and his family, and sister Cathy and her family.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 10th at Ascension Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Please join the family from 3-6 pm on Saturday at Duffy's on St. Andrews where the celebration of Mike's life will continue.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #35, PO Box 4046, Boca Raton, FL 33427.
