Michael Joseph Morgan, 67, of Boca Raton, FL, died on Monday, February 12, 2018 in his home, surrounded by his closest loved ones. Michael succumbed in his sleep after an arduous battle with cancer this past year, despite facing every growing challenge with tenacity, strength of will, and as anyone who knew him would say, incredible and incomparable wit.
Michael was born August 28, 1950 in New York, NY. He grew up in Smithtown, Long Island with his parents, Marilyn and Thomas Morgan and three younger sisters, Laurie, Debbie and Karen.
As a young man in 1976, Michael relocated to Boca Raton, FL where he ran his successful business of automotive parts, Suncoast Automotive Parts, Inc. with his partner, James Ferrari for over 28 years. He then moved on to property management working for Hawkeye Property Management under Paul Patti, an unwavering friend, until he passed away. Michael worked so diligently that he quickly became a favorite among numerous Palm Beach County communities; his work ethic, a labor of love, was always evident, even unto his last days where he was still working from his hospital bed on his laptop.
Michael was also an active member within the Boca Raton community, leading multiple housing boards, contributing to the church, and sponsoring several service organizations. He believed in knowing your neighbor and working for the betterment of all.
Michael is survived by a multitude of generous and loving friends; in addition, he has left behind his best friend and sweetheart, Lydia, his adoring stepchildren, Christopher, Jennie, Cindy and stepsons-in-law, Manny and Edel, and his incomparable step-grandchildren, Alexander and Nicolas, not to mention the step-family that included brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins galore; the unshakable deep roots that stemmed from his loving heart spread quickly and tightly throughout this family tree. His absence will be felt far and wide.
On Saturday, 2/24 a service will be held at Glick Family Funeral Home from 2-4pm for family and friends with the pastor's prayer at 4pm. The following Saturday, 3/3 at 11am there will be a mass at St Jude Catholic Church located at 21689 Toledo Road, Boca Raton, FL 33433.
