Mary Ballou Gray passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 82, surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by Robert, her loving husband of 61 years, her five children and their partners, Robert C. and Cristina Gray, James and Terri Gray, Amy and Richard Ferranti, Stephen Gray and Wendell Waltman, and David and Christina Gray. She was Nana to eleven grandchildren.
She also leaves behind two sisters, Cary Rundle and Joni Adams, and a brother, William Cary Burns.
Dr. Gray was a decorated professor and colleague for 23 years, educating and mentoring doctoral students at Florida Atlantic University until her retirement in 2003.
Mary loved watching her family grow, opened her home to her friends, and never ran out of love. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and altruism, that she shared with everyone she met.
She is awaited by her father and mother, William Cary and Kathryn Burns, and her sister, Betsy Glenn Burns.
The family will host a visitation on Tuesday, March 6th, from 9:30-11:30 AM at Glick Funeral Home, 3600 N Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL, 33431. A mass to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Ascension Catholic Church at noon the same day, located at 7250 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33487. She will be laid to rest at Boca Raton Cemetery immediately following the service.
