Maria Vittas

September 16, 1939 ~ August 3, 2018 (age 78)

Maria Vittas of Boca Raton , Florida passed away peacefully on Friday August 3rd, 2018.  She was 78 years old.  Maria Lardas was born in 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to Teresa and Petros Lardas, and survived by her brothers Nick and Stan Lardas.  Maria was married to James Vittas for 25 years until his passing in 1990. Beloved Mother, Yia Yia (Grandmother), Sister, and friend, Maria is also survived by her only son and daughter in law, Peter and Tiffany Vittas, along with her two grandchildren, Addison James and Brady Michael Vittas.

Throughout her early years, Maria graduated from Bay Ridge High School. During that time she was a proud member of the Chorus, and immediately following would attend Brooklyn College.  Early on, she had a passion for swimming, tennis and figure skating.  This passion would continue through the years.

Maria was the most kind-hearted and generous soul.  A neighborhood Mom for many of us, “Mrs.V” as she was known, was deeply involved within her community throughout her life.  A Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, Baseball Mom, PTA Member, Sunday School Teacher and volunteering her time whenever possible.

Throughout her life, Maria was devoted to her faith in the Greek Orthodox Church.  As a member of the Daughters of Penelope, she had much fulfillment in helping to promote Education, Philanthropy, and civic responsibility in our community.

During her time with us, Maria lived her life just as she wanted.  With a beautiful smile, unwavering positive attitude, and her heart filled with enough Love for all.  For any encounter with her left a lasting impression, leaving us all feeling good.  Never to be underestimated was her Sense of Humor. Maria loved to smile and laugh as often as possible, as she was able to do with so many of us.
