Kirk Michael Coakley, 37, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 in the comfort of his home.
Kirk was born August 18, 1980 in Rochester, NY, but moved to Boca Raton when he was 6 weeks old. He attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, Royal Palm School, and Twin Palms Center for the Disabled. Kirk was an avid lover of music, movies and the arts. He was a published poet and a prolific artist, which became his voice following his accident at the age of 13. He loved to be surrounded by his friends and family. The company of others is what brought him the most joy. He will be most remembered for his infectious love for life and his ability to find humor in all things.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth, his brother, William and his wife Virginia, and his nephews, Billy and Jack.
A visitation will be held at Glick Family Funeral Home on Thursday, April 5, from 4-7pm, with a prayer service at 6:30pm. A Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 6 at St Lucy Catholic Church in Highland Beach, FL at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Twin Palms Center for the Disabled in Boca Raton, FL.
