Welcome to the memorial page for

Kathryn Mary Henderson

March 11, 1956 ~ September 10, 2017 (age 61) 61 Years Old

Kathryn Mary Henderson, 61, of Boca Raton, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017.

Kathy Henderson was born in Des Plaines, IL on March 11, 1956 to proud parents Gene and Mimi LaPointe.  Kathy was the second of three children and their only daughter.

As a teenager Kathy and her family moved to Winter Park, FL and from there on to San Francisco where she studied Arts and Drama at the University of California, Berkeley.  It was after this she met and fell in love with Harry from Ireland, who she went on to marry in 1984.  Kathy and Harry were married in the church where we are celebrating Kathy's Funeral Mass.

Kathy had a successful career, the highlight of which was the management of the Royal Palm Dinner Theatre here in Royal Palm Plaza, where she often performed in the productions.  During this period in her life Kathy will be well remembered for hosting the best Superbowl parties.  Harry claims they hosted around 100 friends in their home during these fun times.  Kathy was the perfect host, bubbly, vivacious and extremely generous and her personality shone bright during these years.

Kathy loved family and was as generous with her time visiting and hosting Harry's Irish family as she was with her own family.  Harry's family and friends adored Kathy and she will be lovingly remembered for her wonderful story telling to all of her nieces and nephews and her generosity and warm welcome when they came to visit in Florida.  She also hosted many of Harry's Gaelic Football friends from Ireland and the Gaelic Association is extremely saddened at her passing.

Kathy was one of the kindest and caring people everyone knew.  Despite periods of poor health herself, she tended lovingly to her parents Mimi and Gene in their latter years and was a devoted daughter in every sense.  She also tended lovingly to her aunt Genny until her passing a year ago.

In recent years Kathy has not enjoyed full health but, in spite of this, she continued to socialize as best she could and both herself and Harry holidayed regularly with their best friends Robyn and Scott.  She also attended the wedding of her niece Essie in Indianapolis and, less than a month ago, the wedding of her niece Fionnuala in Key Largo.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband Harry,  her brothers Gene and Pat and their families here and in Ireland.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 18 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton.
