Joseph Lee Fink

Joseph Lee Fink, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14th at 7:30pm with family by his side. He maintained a very healthy lifestyle until he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. He was born February 9, 1933 in Duncansville, PA where he resided until he attended Penn State University. There, he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. Joe was later hired by IBM where he worked and traveled the world extensively for 35 years. He was considered the “go to guy” by all of his colleagues. His most beloved places visited were South Africa, Italy and the Middle East. He found a love for the dynamic cultures, charismatic people and beautiful landscape. Cape Town and Durban were two of his favorite towns, as these were simply majestic and breathtaking.

In the early 1960s, Joe found a passion for the ocean and became an avid scuba diver. He explored many of the reefs in the South Florida area, and even founded a location now called the Fink’s Grouper Hole off Boca Raton. His love for diving passed on to his 2 sons, Larry and Erik, as they explored the waters together. His grandson, Lawson, now has a passion for the ocean life as well. Joe also had a love for the game of golf and would meet with his good friend weekly to enjoy a game.

Joe is survived by his two sons, Larry (46) and Erik (41), and four beautiful grandchildren and daughter in law, Becky. His oldest granddaughter is Lexi (15), grandson Lawson (13), granddaughter Avery (9) and his youngest grandchild Sydney (6).  He also has many wonderful friends that shared adventures and special times together. Joe undoubtedly had a love for his family and friendships.

Joe will be sorely missed by all who knew him, he made friends wherever he traveled. May he rest in peace with God.

Services will be held Tuesday, November 21st @ 11am at the Glick Family Funeral home.
