Joel Stormont Obituary

Joel Calvin Stormont, age 78, of Delray Beach, FL, lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the Delray Beach Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Edith; brothers James, Jr., and John. He is survived by his children Jon, James (Tammy), Rebekah (Robert), and Rachel; his grandchildren Eryka (Greg), Zachary, and Calvin; his great-grandchildren Vivianna, and Vedder (on the way); sisters Joanne and Janet; a host of beloved wives, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and more long-time friends than we can count. To Joel’s family, he was an irreplaceable son, brother, husband, and father; he courageously served his country as staff sergeant in the US Air Force during 1965-1970; and he undeniably amounted masses of friends and strangers alike with his undisputable desire to be loved and to love human-kind at the same time.

Joel was known for his humor, witty-sarcasm, intelligence, and zest for always being right! His infectious love for life, the winks, his laughter — none will be forgotten. He was unconditionally kind, loving, and forgiving. Joel found something of value in the heart of all he befriended on the many adventures and journeys of his life. He had a deep admiration for mother nature, the woods, wild animals, and the great outdoors. Joel loved the Lord and was a child of God. We are at peace knowing that he is rejoicing in Heaven with those who have passed before us.

A graveside veteran’s ceremony will take place to honor his life and service to this country on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 2:45 p.m., at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.

We are comforted to know that Joel Stormont knows who Joel Stormont is again. Wild and Free, Jesom Oltrot — until our hearts and souls meet again!
