Hope M. Bruens, née Resor, of Boca Raton passed away, Friday May 10th, 2019, surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son.
She was born to late parents Julie Houston Resor, née Harper, and Robert R. Resor, July 19th, 1963 in White Plains, New York. Hope grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1981, and attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
She married Mark Bruens in 1989, and had lived in South Florida since 1981. Hope is survived by her loving husband, children Alex and Harper Bruens, sisters Holly Johnson and Roberta Dillon, and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends who had the opportunity to experience her positive and loving energy. She was predeceased by her brother Randy Resor.
Hope was always a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. She had so many diverse talents, made connections and friends with people from different walks of life, and stayed energetic and optimistic no matter the challenge. She approached everything with a unique perspective and had an immense appreciation for art.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 10am at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church in Boca Raton, Florida. A short reception with refreshments at the church will follow.
