Gertrude Therese Crowley

Gertrude Therese (“Teri”) Crowley died peacefully surrounded by family at St. Andrews Estates on January 2nd, 2018.   She was 87 years old.

Teri is survived by her constant companion and husband Chuck, son Michael, devoted daughters-in-law Tami and Jill Crowley, son-in-law Donald Philipps, grandchildren Michael, Ryan, Casey, Colleen and Kevin and great-grandson Leo.  Teri will be greeted in heaven by her son Chuck and daughter Lisa who predeceased her in 2012 and 1998 respectively.  Teri was a loving wife of 60+ years and a wonderful mother of 3 children but bore the incredible loss of 2 children which left a sadness that she carried for the rest of her life.   

Teri was born on January 30, 1930 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Dr. William and Margaret Slusher.  She attended Beaver High School where she was active in theater and choir.  She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1954 where she studied home economics.   Teri worked for Florida Power and Light before spending full time raising her children.  She had a flair for fashion and was known for her stylish hats.

Teri moved to Webster, NY where she enjoyed golf, bridge, knitting and ice skating.   After moving to Boca Raton, FL Teri got her real estate license, continued playing bridge and took up tennis.  Teri enjoyed summers in Blowing Rock, NC where she enjoyed the mountains, cool weather and time with Florida friends.

Despite challenging health issues, Teri never lost her pleasant disposition, warm smile, engaging laugh and unique sense of humor. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 13th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton.  Entombment will follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Teri Crowley Scholarship Fund at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, Boca Raton, FL. Checks should be made payable to St. Joan of Arc.
