Beloved Mother, Nana and wife. Gertilyn is survived by her only child, daughter Crista, her three precious grandchildren Darlington, Drake, Dean and loving husband Enrico. Gertilyn also leaves behind three loving sisters, Audrey, Kathleen and Anne, as well as a loving son in law Bob Kopec, a host of other loving nieces, nephews and many loving family members and friends.
Gertilyn, was born in New York in 1941 to loving parents Hermie Darlington and David Jordan. It would not be long before this beautiful star began to shine. Described as a beautiful golden hair special child that was always loving and as kind as she was beautiful. It would not be long before beauty met brains! Gertilyn earned the distinction of valedictorian of her middle and high school classes.
Not long after finishing school in New York Gertilyn began a successful modeling career working for top modeling agencies of Ford New York and Nina Blanchard of Beverly Hills, CA. Gertilyn modeling and beauty career allowed for beautiful light to shine even brighter still. Gertilyn has several magazine covers, billboards, beauty pageant winnings, commercials and countless print ads to her resume.
Perhaps a nod to her ever-giving nature, Gertilyn would not be satisfied with only being a beautiful face to be admired. She would go on from modeling to partner with older sister Audrey to open a Beverly hills Day Spa which featured the Audrell cosmetics line and Gertilyn’s signature make-up application teaching of make-up application according to one’s zodiac sign.
The beauty and creativity of Gertilyn would shine wider and even brighter still, as she took her philosophy of “Let beauty be in everything you see.” and began a very successful Interior Design business, The L Collection Interiors. Again, destine for success, Gertilyn’s design of Los Angeles most high- end homes were featured in many area design magazines.
Finally, Gertilyn’s shined so bright that it captured all the light of the rainbow when she was inspired to grace others once again. Gertilyn penned an inspirational children's book entitled “What Color is Your Happiness?” Gertilyn so ever thoughtful blessed her family with a very kind and loving dedication in the foreword of her book.
Gertilyn Elinor was an extraordinary soul who touched so many with her loving kindness. This brief account of moments from her life shares just a fraction of her impact on those she touched.
The love she gave to her family is boundless and now shines on us from heaven, we just pray it can dry our tears. Beloved Gertilyn Mom, Nana, you are deeply missed here on earth. But, we honor you and the life you so well lived. We rejoice that you are healthy and strong in the arms of Jesus. We celebrate that you are home in heaven.
