Earl W. Moreland, 90, of Boca Raton passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018.
Earl was born on June 7, 1928 and grew up in Oxen Hill, Maryland. He played minor league baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers and became an Officer for the Traffic Division of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC in 1951. Earl moved to Boca Raton in 1964. He enjoyed playing golf and watching baseball and football.
His family meant the world to him! He always said "Family is everything and without it you have nothing."
Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Ruth, father George, mother Daisy, sister Margie (Butch) Gates, and his brother Bobby Moreland. He is survived by his children Earl (Lori) Moreland Jr. and John (Patty) Moreland, 9 grandchildren: Sam (Jill) Moreland, Kim (Jim) Parry, Brian Moreland, Tracy (Mike) Ramsey, Tony (Yana) Moreland, Bobby (Kristina) Moreland, Lisa (Roger) Newton, John (Lauren) Moreland Jr., and Ross (Marjorie) Moreland, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 11-1 pm on Monday, July 2 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.
