Dorothy Lucy (Espositi) Wagner passed away and entered the presence of her Lord on January 19, 2019. She was 95 years old.
Dorothy was born in Trenton, NJ graduating from McKinley School of Nursing. While working as a nurse, she met and fell in love with a patient, Elwood W. Wagner. They were married for 72 years.
She is survived by her three sons Craig (Wendy), Glenn, Eric (Taffy), four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Dorothy worked as a nurse and after Elwood retired, they went to work at America’s Keswick. It was during this time that Dorothy and Elwood began going on mission trips. The first years they went on these trips they were in remote villages around the world setting up medical and surgical tents to treat people who would otherwise not receive the care they needed. Dorothy was known to "take charge" and improvise with what they had available and somehow manage to have a functioning surgical unit and operating room. Later, they went on Eye project trips with Dorothy continuing as a surgical nurse and Elwood learning to fit artificial eyes. They completed over 35 trips.
Dorothy was known for her energy, enthusiasm, hospitality, sense of humor which was often at her own expense, a great love for people and her God, and for never walking slowly anywhere! She adored her husband, loved her three boys deeply and had a loving influence and lasting impact on her grand and great grandchildren.
