We have gained a new angel. My mother Deborah Jean Johnson passed away peacefully January 18th after a gradual decline in her health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the final days of her life.
Deborah was born July 17, 1955 in Queens, N.Y. to William B. Johnson and Marjorie Peters Johnson. She lived in Queens and Long Island, N.Y. before finally relocating to Broward County, Florida with her children.
Deborah lived a life that was full and fast paced. A mere paragraph is not enough to capture all the joys, laughter, and adventures experienced along her journey.
Deborah is survived by four children (and spouses): Jean-Marie Davis (Steven), Edward Scheffer, William Scheffer, and Thomas Scheffer (Wendy); five grandchildren: Zachery, Yanique, Megan, William, and Brandon; two great-grandchildren: Michael & Tanya. Deborah is also survived by her brother Thomas Johnson (Adina); nephew Thomas Jr. & niece Victoria; great-niece Emma & great-nephew Vincent. She also leaves behind four step sisters (and spouses): Nancy (Joe), Barbara (George), Sandy (Jimmy), Valerie (John). She was preceded in death by her mother Majorie, father William, step-mother Doris, and nephew Vincent.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11am to 12 pm on Saturday, January 27 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton where a Memorial Service will begin at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you donate to TrustBridge, the hospice care center that assisted in giving my mother and her family the most caring and compassionate experience possible. We couldn't speak more highly of TrustBridge.
