David Russell Lazarony

David R. Lazarony, Sr., a creative, caring and sincerely honest man who loved Jeannie Hill and Cadillac convertibles passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, March 9, 2017 after 7+ years of battling vascular dementia.   His children held a more than 24 hour vigil at his bedside.  

David Russell Lazarony was born on August 15, 1932 in Dunkirk, New York.   Dave married Jean Stewart Hill on Jean’s birthday in 1963.  Dave and Jean were lovingly together for nearly 52 years, until Jean's passing in June of 2015.  Dave was 84 years old and living in the memory care wing of Advent Square Assisted Living Facility in Boca Raton, Florida.

Dave is survived by his son David and his wife Barbara (Young), his sons Paul and Alan, and his daughters Lucy and Laura. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean (Hill) his parents Lorito and Lucy (LaTona), his sister Rita and her husband Bud Reigert, his brother Lorry, and his brother-in-law John Previte.  He is also survived by his sister Virginia (Previte) his brother Robert and his wife Paula (Shufflin), and his sister-in-law Betty (Lorry's wife), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  

Dave was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Sandusky, Ohio and he earned his Bachelor's of Science in Sociology Degree from John Carroll University in 1954.

Dave was a retired Major from the U.S. Army and the Ohio National Guard.  In the early 1960's Dave was Assistant Manager at M. Hommel Wine Company (Sandusky, Ohio) working with his Dad who was a charismatic chemist and winemaker at the winery.  Dave was both a Real Estate Agent and Broker who began his long career in Real Estate in 1963 working as an Agent for his brother Lorry (Lorry Lazarony Realty).  Dave later earned his Brokers license and founded Bayland Realty in 1969 in Sandusky, Ohio.  Dave closed his Real Estate career as an independent Broker in Delray Beach, Florida.  His final yard signs and business cards read "David Lazarony, Selling America Since 1963."

Dave's family will miss him dearly, and we take great comfort that Dave and Jean are reunited in heaven.
