Charles “Chuck” Ray White, 88, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019.
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Edith June Callender. He is also survived by his son Douglas (Jane), and daughter Lee Ann (Steve). He is the proud grandfather of two grandchildren, Carrie Lee (Christopher) and Chelsea. His eldest son, William “Bill” passed away in 2014.
Chuck was born in Brookfield, Illinois to Emma and Walter White. After moving from Illinois to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1943, he attended and then graduated from Palm Beach High School and Palm Beach Junior College. He then served for 4 years in the United States Air Force.
He graduated from the University of Florida in 1957 where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He then began an exciting and rewarding 34-year career with IBM in Montgomery, Alabama. It was there that he married June. After relocating his family to several IBM sites, he finally moved to Boca Raton in 1968.
Chuck enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his family. He was an active follower of Jesus Christ and served in two local churches in Boca Raton.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 19 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ARVD/C program at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. ARVD/C is a rare hereditary, degenerative heart disease that Chuck’s two sons expressed, and that saved his daughter’s life.
