Charles “Chuck” Hugh Fields, Jr. died peacefully surrounded by his family at Jackson Memorial Hospital on January 8th, 2018 in Miami, Florida at the young age of 56.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2018 from 11am-noon, with a service beginning at noon at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida. Pastor Steve Carretto from Saint Paul Lutheran Church will officiate the ceremony. Chuck became a member of the Church in 2004. Following the funeral service, Chuck will be laid to rest at the Boca Raton City Cemetery.
Chuck will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, his gentle heart, and for his love of life and adventure. He impacted all of our lives with love, laughter, kindness, friendship and a smile that brightened-up every room. He adored his family, loved ones, and friends. Chuck was loved by many and will be missed by all that were blessed to know him.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Cheri Decker of Jensen Beach, Florida, his sibling, Diane Freglette (Danny) of Boca Raton, Florida, step mother Victoria Fields, step brothers Michael (Kelly) and Greg Bonner (Kathy), of Boca Raton, Florida. Chuck’s nephews include Chris and Joe Bonner and Cale and Decker Fitzwater. Chuck’s nieces include Sarah Freglette, Ashley Bonner, Angelique Stopplebien, and Haley Fitzwater, as well as many other loving family members.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hugh Fields, Sr. and Fosteen Fields, of Boca Raton, Florida.
Chuck was born on August 20th, 1961 in Middletown, Ohio to Charles Hugh Fields, Sr. and Fosteen Fields. He moved with his family to Boca Raton, Florida in 1965 and graduated from Boca Raton Academy in 1979. Chuck attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Business degree in 1983.
Chuck married Cheri Decker in 2012 among the palm trees by the beautiful riverside in Jensen Beach, Florida. Chuck worked as a teacher, glazer, and driver. Chuck loved God, his dogs, travelling, spending time with friends and family, and was an avid animal and nature lover. His loyalty to Florida Gators was unsurpassed. Among his many hobbies were sports, fishing, golfing, music, cooking and grilling, and enjoying early mornings at the beach. Chuck’s New England Seafood family were dear to his heart.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Jupiter Medical Center and to the Jackson Memorial Hospital for their kindness and caring in his final days.
