Betty K. Miller

Betty Knestrick Miller, 84, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Betty was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, February 13, 1933, the daughter of Franklin and Madeline Frazee Knestrick.  

Betty graduated from Washington High School, Washington, Pa.  in 1951 and married  Roger Andrew Miller in 1955.  Together they raised three children.

After her husband’s death in 1975, Betty went to work at CIGNA Corp. in Bloomfield, Ct. for 18 years and retired in 1995.   She was a long time member of the Conservative Christian Congregational Church in Collinsville, CT.   She served on the Missions Board, the Board of Deacons and sang in the choir. She moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 1998.

A life of service was her lifelong dream, and after retirement she spent her time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, serving Thanksgiving dinners for the local community in Delray Beach, FL, and volunteering with Boca Helping Hands.

She was active in the Boca Raton Community Church in Boca Raton, FL, where she helped pack lunches for low income school children, served as a member of the Prayer Team, and helped to prepare communion for the church. 

Betty also took a 3-month Discipleship Training with the YWAM organization in Orlando, FL.  Prior to her death, she still maintained contact with missionaries in Panama, Thailand and Italy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Madeline Knestrick, two sons, Roger and Rodney Miller, and  two brothers, Robert and Marion Knestrick.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Miller Vanek and her husband Brian of Granby, Ct. , grandsons Jesse Vanek and wife Melissa, Cameron Vanek and daughter Ava, Brandon Miller and wife Mary, and Chris Miller.
