Arthur Berman Romer, 84, passed away August 15th, 2018 in Delray Beach, Florida.
He was born in Newark, New Jersey to Ruth Berman and George Romer on January 7th, 1934. He went to school at Union High School in Newark. After graduation, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Following an honorable discharge, he began a long and successful career in retail before purchasing a deli with his brother, William. Together they ran Yeidi’s Deli in New Jersey for over seventeen years, working side by side. In 2006, they sold the deli and moved to South Florida, joining their sister Elaine. Art continued to work four days a week as a security guard at the Jewish Community Center and ADT in Boca Raton, Florida. He took great pride in his independence as well as his family. “Gramps” or “G-pa” as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, was an avid sports-fan, poker player, and always appreciated a good sense of humor.
He is survived by his sister, Elaine Fisher, brother, William Romer; five children, Allyson Andrews, Craig Romer, Honnah Kozik, Janet Garcia, and Dov Rosenberg; sixteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A private, family, celebration of life will be held in his honor.
