Ana Teresa Obeso of Boca Raton passed away after a long battle with cancer a few days before her 63rd birthday. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend. Ana was born on April 30th, 1955 to Hipolito Casais and the late Ana (Lence) Casais. Ana lived in Alquizar, Cuba before immigrating to Miami in 1961. In 1987 she moved to Boca Raton.
Ana is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jose Obeso; her daughter, Jaclyn (Obeso) Kunkel; and son-in-law, Benjamin Kunkel. She is also survived by her father; her brother, Pedro Casais and sister-in-law, Alma Cuevas; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mario Obeso and Maria (Prats) Obeso; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Teresa (Obeso) Himes and Dan Himes; her cousins; and her nieces and nephew. She has countless friends who are family.
Ana’s life was devoted to her family and friends. She saw beauty in the world around her and the best in everyone she met. In 2011, she discovered a passion and natural ability for painting and in the years that followed she completed 152 pieces. Her artwork reflects a vibrant, happy world and serves as a reflection of the kind, generous and loving person she was.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, April 29th from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at the Glick Family Funeral Home, located at 3600 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 30th at 10:00 am at St. Jude Catholic Church, located at 21689 Toledo Rd, Boca Raton, FL. Burial will take place on Monday, April 30th at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery located at 11411 NW 25th St.,Doral, FL.
