Zachary Scott Shackelford, 23 of Boca Raton, Florida passed away from an automobile accident on September 28, 2012.  Originally from Atlanta, Georgia and a former student at Florida Atlantic University studying business and finance.  Zack was an owner of Shack's Luxury Limousines and 180 Day Spa located in Boca Raton, Florida.

His time on this earth was short, although he touched so many lives.  He is remembered most by his positive, driven, loving, and care-free ways.  Zachary had a smile like no other.  He lit up the room and the party didn't start until Zack walked in !

We will uphold and live by Zack's most valuable and memorable saying in life, "be positive and go hard".  Zack was a true superstar in life, a natural entrepreneur and leader who had great respect from everyone he knew.

Survived by Douglas Scott Shackelford (father), Maryann Shackelford Barley (mother), Joshua Stephen Shackelford (brother), and Holly Ann Shackelford (sister).

Viewing for Zack is Friday October 5th at Glick Family Funeral Home located at 3600 N. Federal HWY Boca Raton, FL. 33431. Viewing  is from 2-4 and 6-8.

Scott, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I never met your son, but I know how you loved him and thought the world of him. No words can ease your pain at this difficult time, but just know that your friends are here for you and our hearts are broken for you and your family.

Love, Bil

Dear Scott & Family:
Peggy and I have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Zach was certainly a happy looking young man. I'll bet he was great fun to be around.
We still have fond memories of the time you spent at our home. Shooting pool and talking sports with you was like having a son in the house.
May God bless and keep you, and may the fond memories of Zach always be with you and all who knew him. Love and Prayers Sam & Peggy

It breaks my heart to face burying another one of my son's childhood friends!

♥ Zack Shackelford ♥ will be missed by the many people who love him—friends and family. Watching these boys grow from children to young men has been an honor. Through the last ten years, there have been many days when I didn't know if I wanted to hug them or beat their butts. Zack, always brighter than the others, had the uncanny ability to disarm anyone with his smile which I know saved his hide more times than he could count. Zack was ridiculously smart, fiercely loyal, insanely witty and impossible not to like. And Zack LOVED his family! He had a way with people---anyone who ever encountered him knows exactly what I am talking about.

As part of the “village” that makes up this “parent group”, I wish I could rewind the clock and talk to these boys again at 13 years old—or 15 or 17. I wish I could convince them to SLOW down and teach them that their choices come with consequences. I wish I could protect them—shield them….save them. The void that has replaced Zack Shackelford’s presence in the lives of those who loved him will never be filled.

Scott, MaryAnn, Josh and Holly will feel this loss for a lifetime. No parent should ever have to bury their child. Ever. My heart aches for this family. I wish there was some gesture we could offer to help ease their pain, but there is no nothing. No words.

Scott, Josh, Holly: I love you all and I am so very, very sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers along with MaryAnn and the rest of the family.

My deepest sympathy,
Terri Gladwell (formally Nix)

our prayers are with you & Zack, we will always remember those Thanksgiving visits to Florida, the kids playing football in the street and jockeying for control of the lone computer in the house.

It''s been a long time since Zack and Josh came knocking on my door looking to play baseball in the front yard with Bryan. Looking at all of the old pictures of him as a child warms my heart because he DID have a smile that was bright and he always had something funny to say. The Cornish Court days weren''t always easy but our kids had fun playing together and my heart breaks for any parent having to go through this. However I do know that with faith you can move through this impossible time. Knowing that Doug is there with him makes me smile because their grand dad LOVED them and would do anything for his grandkids. May God''s grace and peace fill you with hope.

Zack and the Shackelford family,

I cant express in words how much it has saddened me to the core that my boy is not here anymore. I understand that God has HIS time for everyone and that's the only thing holding me together right now. Zack was so focused to make sure his family and friends were never needing for anything. Everyone and anyone who knew Zack should definitely take some of his traits and better themselves in his rememberence! Florida will never ever be the same for me bro now that you are gone with God. I love you bro and will always remember our crazy and borderline retarded times together man... Much respect, you'll always be my boy!

Scott, Maryann, Josh and Holly,I am so sad to hear about Zach. I think about our days on Cornish Court alot and your children are a big part of those memories. I remember times I would love to have pinched Zach''s head off then he would flash that smile of his and I had to laugh and could never stay mad at him for anything. There are no words to ease your pain right now but my prayer for you is that God will embrace you all in his love and give you peace and comfort. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
