Barbara Ann Filosa of Boca Raton passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Hospice by the Sea. She was 66 years old. Barbara was the current office manager at Boca Bayou Condominium Association for the last six years.
Barbara was born on August 13, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. Although she eventually settled in South Florida, she was truly a New York City gal at heart. She loved being outdoors, especially enjoying the beach. She traveled the Caribbean, enjoying the breezes and shopping sprees. She had an infectious enthusiasm and passion for life; she loved fast cars, good food, and a great martini! We shall miss her smile and laughter, which will live on in our hearts, until we meet again.
Barbara is survived by her sister Denise with brother-in-law John Chu; her brother Arthur Filosa and niece Samantha and nephew Connor; her beloved life-long friend, Jerri Giarratano; and her bird Taz and her buddy Dino.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday at Glick Family Funeral Home beginning at 1:00pm, with a service in celebration of a wonderful life. Barbara really knew how to live in the moment – she leaves us all with so many beautiful memories.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Words could not express our sorrow! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.
Sent with heartfelt condolences and lots of love,
Richie and Debi

"Barbs" will be missed by all of us; I know she was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her dog Chris, and her little turtle Franklin. For me she brought an incredible sense of humor to my life, I admired the way had lived her life, and of course the way she shopped.
I love you “Barbs”, and I am going to miss you so much.

Barbs, that raspy voice that craziness and wacky ways will be with me until we meet again. I cannot imagine another Barbie in this world. Originality and perfection that I have not met yet. You were unpredictable and so honest about everything and everyone. The way you set the table before a meal everything had to be perfect before you sat down to eat. My favorite was whenever anyone stepped on your shoes the wrath of Barbie was heard throughtout the land. Rest in peace my friend the world cannot and will not produce another Barbie.
How lucky I was to know that wonderful you.

Dearest Gerri & Denise, Z & I are heartbroken at the loss of Barbara. Although Zaido only met Barbara a few years ago he loved her & loved the fun times we shared together. I will always remember Barbara's crazy sense of humor. We had so much fun so many, many years ago when we worked together in New York City. She was always up to something! During my very youngin' years she taught me to "drink" my lunch & run off to the next bar when we'd get word the boss was on the way! LOL with tears in my eyes & in my heart. Zaido & I will always remember Barbara with lots of love & laughs. Hugs...

Barbara has been in my life as long as I can remember... literally. She watched me grow from a little pup to the man I am today at 47. She was as close to being family without actually being blood. She will be missed dearly.. Even though I don't drink Martini's, I will have a few in her honor! and when we all go upstairs one day she'll be first to greet us with one!

I will always have fond memories of Barbara Filosa. She was a frequent presence at family gatherings and Sunday dinners over the years, especially when I was young. Barbara was part of my family. She even came all the way to my wedding in Montana, where I suspect they are still talking about her. She was the quintessential New Yorker. I especially remember the vacations to Disney World and all the free passes to the Magic Kingdom that she bestowed upon us when she worked in the travel industry. Now that she has gone on to her own Magic Kingdom (where martinis are definitely served) she will be missed dearly. Rest in Peace Barbara - xo bobby

> Dear Jerri, I just wanted to tell you, that Vito and I thought the service you held for Barbara-was truly one of the best Celebration''s of life we had ever attended...At one point I wanted to speak, (unfortunately i am a bit shy, speaking in a croud.)I was so glad to have the Minister speak of the 2-day search for Taz,..That was one of the things that came to mind as I was trying to find my (brave-side) to say..Also the times we all shared with my son Ty, whom by the way;would have added one of his fondest memory,s..The day Barbara,Ty,s friend Jovan & myself spent the day at Deerfield beach..we had a great day........................unfortunatly you were working that day but I''m pretty sure Barb, had a grat day as well...because of her,the day was so good for us..I could go on-&-on....we all shared some fun times............I''m just sorry that we didn''t all add more....................Thats what they say, cherish each day, cause before notime it''s gone......................looking forward to sharing some time in the near future, Thanking you for the day,and ending this with knowing "people do touch into others lives","for a reason".................... Love you, Vito & Patti

Barbara,
What can we say, there will definately be a void in the lives of the people you had touched...I have known you practically all my life and loved you just like a cousin, as Jerri is...All the memories over the yrs, hanging at Pompano Bch Pier so long ago, seeing Patrick and Nicole growing up into young adults all the Sunday dinners by Aunt Rose, we can go on and on....Cant forget Lido Bch, you so loved it there, hangin by the beach eating my peppers and eggs..LOL...You truly will be missed, May You Rest In Peace Barbie Doll, our sympathy to Denise, John Jerri and family..Love you, Jerilyn Pat Patrick and Nicole..xxo.
