With great sorrow and heavy hearts we announce that on March 4th, 2012 Domingo Gilberto Handal passed into Christ’s Kingdom in Heaven.

Born on April 29, 1921 in Honduras CA, Dr. Handal immigrated to Brooklyn, New York where he had a thriving and successful general medicine and surgery practice. He was on staff at New York’s most prestigious hospitals and served his patients with the utmost excellence in care and compassion.

As his greatest legacy, he leaves behind his wife Judith, the only woman he ever loved, their three sons, Arthur a Plastic Surgeon and his wife Christine, Richard an Obstetrician Gynecologist and his wife Rula, Edgar an Orthopedic Surgeon and eight beautiful and loving grandchildren. He is the patriarch of our family and we are blessed to have lived in his presence for all of our lives.
Dr. Handal, our beloved “Pappia”, is the sunshine in all of our lives and his love and energy will continue to radiate upon us from his Holy Spirit.

A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, March 9th at Glick Family Funeral Home.  A Funeral Mass wll be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 10th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
