Welcome to the memorial page for

Tyler James Jennings

January 28, 1993 ~ August 14, 2016 (age 23) 23 Years Old

Tyler James Jennings, 23, passed away tragically from a drug overdose on August 14th, 2016.

Tyler was born January 28th, 1993 in West Palm Beach, Florida.  He is survived by his Father Doug (Kristin) Jennings, Mother Laura Lee Jennings, Sister Calista Jennings, step brothers Damian and Dimitri Boyum. Tyler’s immediate family live in Boca Raton, Florida.  Grandmother, M. Cheryl Jennings, lives in Tallahassee, Florida. Tyler is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jack and Doris Sheets and his paternal grandfather Douglas G. Jennings.

Even though Tyler's life was short lived, he was still able to touch many lives while on this earth.  Tyler's younger years began with Tyler falling in love with the game of baseball passed down to him by his father. His father played professional baseball and ever since Tyler could walk he was in and out of clubhouses and on ball fields. The love of the game from a young age led him to begin playing in the Boca Raton Youth Baseball league.  He exceled as a switch hitting middle infielder. He played with friends that he would eventually attend school with at Spanish River Christian School.  SRCS is where Tyler built relationships that would last up into his later years. Tyler played multiple sports in middle school like soccer, basketball, and of course baseball. It was also at this point in his life where Tyler began his obsession with cars. He had perfected his MySpace page with red Ferraris' always interested in the next new car to come out.

After graduating from SRCS, Tyler went to Boca Raton Community High School. This is where he realized that while never being very good at learning Spanish, his Spanish teacher (soccer coach) had something else to offer him. He earned a spot on the JV Soccer team after almost quitting the first day of tryouts.  Tyler played defense where he loved to slide tackle opposing forwards trying to score on his team.  His aggressive personality helped him also land a spot on the JV baseball team where he would play middle infield alongside his stepbrother, Damian. Tyler being a multi-sport athlete in high school was able to utilize his speed on defense in both soccer and baseball.

Tyler’s sports activities were only part of the story.  His personality was funny, loving, very loud at times.  His beautiful smile and laughter were highly contagious.  He was loved by his teachers and was always challenging them to keep him from getting into trouble.  He graduated from Boca Raton Community high school in 2011.

Tyler's hobbies included skim boarding, sun bathing, weight lifting, video games (Halo) while yelling at competitors on XBOX live that were living abroad, and fishing. Tyler’s real passion was music, mostly EDM and Dubstep. He loved animals especially his cat, Tippy.  Tyler was a hard worker, a great brother to his sister and step brothers, and a beautiful soul. His passion for life and living for the moment was unrivaled.  He will be missed dearly by all.

Even though Tyler’s life was challenged with addiction in the last few years of his life, he was a Christian. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior while in school at SRCS.  Tyler is with the Lord now and our family has much solace in that.  Heaven is now enjoying Tyler’s incredible spirit which God brought home early.  We love him dearly and look forward to the reunion on that glorious day.
