Welcome to the memorial page for

Sebastian Robert Grassi

August 13, 1923 ~ August 20, 2015 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Robert “Bob” Grassi, Sr. passed away peacefully August 20th, just one week after his 92nd birthday. Bob was surrounded by his loving children at his home in Boca Raton when he passed.

Bob was a gifted saxophone, clarinet and flute player, who entertained troops while serving in the Navy during World War Two. His primary assignment during the war was working on the U.S.S. Solomons, where his mission was to check for stress fractures on planes.

Bob married Gloria, the love of his life, during the war. The couple remained married for 71-years, until Gloria passed away in December of 2014.

Bob earned a living through his music, and later earned his way to becoming one of the top performing salesmen in the country for Cadillac.

Bob’s children considered him their hero, their inspiration and their mentor. He was a constant, encouraging, presence in their lives. He left no doubt that his children and his wife, Gloria, were his treasures. He lived for them.

Mr. Grassi is survived by his devoted children Robert, Ronnie and Claudia, his granddaughters Nicole and Karina, his son-in-law Mark, and daughter-in-law, Sherrie, as well as many beloved and devoted nieces and nephews.

Mr. Grassi will be interred with military honors at the South Florida National (VA) Cemetery.

The family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, to be made in memory of Robert Grassi, Sr., to Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation.
