Lillian Irene Steele, age 102, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at TrustBride Health Boca Center (Hospice by the Sea) in Boca Raton, Florida.

Lillian was born in Cooleemee, NC.  Lillian and her husband Troy D. Steele (deceased 12-20-71) moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida in 1969.  She worked at Burdines until age 75 when she retired, couldn't stand not working and got a job collecting tolls at the Florida Turnpike until age 90 when she officially retired and continued fishing on Anglin's Pier in Pompano Beach which was where she was most happy.

Lillian was known as "Granny" to most of her friends and family.  She had two children:  Gordon L. Steele (deceased) Boca Raton, Florida, and Peggy Ann Steele, Tampa, Florida; 7 grandchildren:  Cindy Carlino, Mark Steele, Mike Steele, Teresa Stoll, Robert Dorsett (deceased), David Dorsett and James Dorsett; 12 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and 2 great-great-great grandchildren; also daughter-in-law Carolyn Steele.

Lillian will be placed to rest at 11:00 am on Friday, November 20 beside her husband Troy Steele in the Deerfield Beach Memorial Cemetery per her wishes.
