JEANNE "Jay" George SLYMAN, 86 years old, died peacefully in her husband’s arms at home in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on Friday, May 27th, 2016.  Jay was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on April 28, 1930, to Albert and Rose Aeed George.

Jay was a lifelong member of Antiochian Orthodox Churches.  She was a wonderful grandmother who retired from banking and dedicated her life to her church and family – especially her grandchildren.  Jay was also a quiet philanthropist that backed many charities that supported children with her favorite being St. Jude.  Jay will always be remembered as a kind individual willing to help those in need. 

Jay is survived by her husband of 42 years, the love of her life and best friend, Eugene Slyman, whom she married on June 30, 1974.

Jay is also survived by her three children and their families: Daughter Dana Rados and her husband Mark, daughter Laura Gabaly and her fiancé Lee, and son Eugene Slyman.  Also surviving are her Grandchildren, Corey Rados, Paul Rados, Michael Gabaly, Matthew Gabaly, Morgan Gabaly, Isabella Slyman, and Jack Slyman.

Jay is also survived by her brother James George and his wife, Eileen; Sister Annamae Schwartz and her husband Arthur, brother Richard George and his wife Alice; and Marilyn Kaltynski and her son John.

Jay was predeceased by her Parents, Albert and Rose Aeed George.

Visitation will be held at the Glick Family Funeral Home located at 3600 N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431 on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with Trisagion Prayers at 7:30pm.  Funeral services will be held at St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church located at 2100 51st Street, Boca Raton, FL 33431 on Wednesday, June 01, 2016 at 11:00am.  Services will be conducted by Fr. Anton Araj.  Burial will be at Boca Raton Mausoleum located at 451 Southwest 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, FL 33429.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Ignatius Orthodox Mission in her memory.
