Irmgard Friess

Irmgard Hedwig Elisabeth Friess passed away at her home in Highland Beach, Florida on Saturday October 8, 2016.  Our beloved Irmi fought courageously in her battle with cancer.  She had a warrior's spirit that she held onto that never waned.

Irmi was born in Gunzenhausen, Germany to parents Johann and Frieda Friess on February 19, 1963.  She was raised in Absberg, Germany and received her degree in Business Finance at the University of Nuremberg.  She moved to Columbia where she lived and worked for six years.  She came to the States and settled in South Florida sixteen years ago.  She took employment with Siemens Corporation where she held multiple positions in Business Administration and Finance.  Irmi loved her work; she had a brilliant mind and thoroughly enjoyed the world of finance.

Irmi truly appreciated the performing arts.  In her spare time, there was nothing better than attending the opera or a play.  She had a love for great music and great food. She had a passion for travel; meeting new people and exploring new cultures and destinations was always an adventure.

Irmi had a way of leaving a lasting impression in the hearts of everyone she knew.  She will be deeply missed by many friends and family members.  She leaves behind her two brothers, Wilhelm and Hermann Friess, as well as niece Amelle Friess; and five nephews: Philipp Friess, Simon Friess, Jonas Friess; also nephew and godson Fabian Friess and godson Vincent Herlinghous.

Irmi will be laid to rest in her hometown of Absberg.  The service will take place at the Church where she was baptized and confirmed.
