Helen W. (Hergert) Tesher

Helen W. Tesher, 81, of Hollywood, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2016. Helen was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Helen and Carl Hergert.  She left Pennsylvania and settled in South Florida in 1959.  She raised her family and was a dedicated Registered Nurse with the State of Florida Public Health program for many years.    Helen’s compassion extended to animals; she cared for and nursed many animals back to health.  Those who know her best will tell you about her determination, her strong-will and opinionated nature; especially when it came to politics!

Helen is survived by her son Lawrence (daughter-in-law Cindy) Tesher of Boca Raton and her daughter Robin (son-in-law Jay) Howard of Colorado; four grandchildren: Justin, Jonathan, Kaitlin and Frederic.  She also leaves her sisters Mimi Saylor and Ginny Adams as well as her brother Jon Hergert. 

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton.
