Harriet F. McCallister

Harriet Faulk McCallister, better known to her friends as Cookie, from Virginia Beach, VA and Boca Raton, FL, passed away at the age of 71 in her home in Boca.  Harriet was born in Columbia, AL and graduated from Auburn University in 1966.  She taught in the Virginia Beach public school system for 16 years before earning her Masters degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

Cookie enjoyed being active and going to the gym, or taking long walks in the park with her husband, and is well known for her love of a good shopping trip.  She is notorious for spending her mornings reading every line of the daily paper and delighted in going to art shows and collecting anything seashell related.  Her early evenings were frequently spent cruising leisurely along the inter-coastal with her husband, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 49 years, Billy McCallister, her daughter Shannon Leigh McCallister of Richmond, VA, her sister Sally Lauthers of El Paso, TX, her son William Gene McCallister, two grandchildren Kate and Ellie and her daughter in law Carolyn of Virginia Beach, VA and her many friends.

Her memory and generosity will be cherished by all who knew her.
